Some of my favorite memories come from the Southern Oaks Assisted Living Center in my college town. My wife and I volunteered here on numerous occasions, as one of several ways to date. Many times, the residents were very happy to see a younger face. Still, there were those who, upon seeing us, seemed to resent the fact that their younger, biological families rarely visited them…if at all.
Clearly, our attitudes affect everyone around us. I know the example of the couple in this video will serve well in our lives, because their happiness made me smile. Their actions, you will notice, also affect themselves and causes them them smile. A good attitude is contagious.
Maybe you woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. If so, won’t you consider making the simple switch in attitude? Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things.
